Revisit the captivating world of Kiera Cass’s #1 New York Times bestselling Selection series in this digital original novella. The Favorite is one of the 4 Novellas in The Selection series. These novellas are actually short stories that focuses on the other characters’ stories in the book. In this book, it was Marley’s, the people’s favorite.

If you have read The Elite book, The Favorite is sort of a continuation or series of events that lead to that gruesome day for Marley and Carter. After reading this book, I understood some parts in The Elite such as how Maxon handled (in the background) their offense to the throne. I knew he explained it also to America (though not thoroughly) in The Elite book but it is in The Favorite book that I understood what he meant or did prior and after that gruesome day for Marley and Carter. I kind of felt sad too knowing this considering America almost lose it, blindsided of how she ought Maxon handled the situation; kind of unfair for her to do that I think? But can’t blame her. Maxon isn’t truly being straight with her. To his defense, it is for everyone’s (Marley, Carter, etc) benefit.

I loved the ending of this book!!! I haven’t read The Heir (fourth book) yet and this book’s ending sort of gave away a tiny glimpse of America and Maxon’s ruling in the future which The One (third book) didn’t. It totally got me excited to jump into The Heir. Even if The Heir is the story of America and Maxon’s daughter going through The Selection, I knew it would showcase the new changes in Illea. But STOP! I still have The Guard, and The Prince novellas to finish.
