Throne Of Glass

Book Title: Throne Of Glass
Book Series: Throne Of Glass Series #1
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Date Published: August 2012
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: “Nothing is a coincidence. Everything has a purpose. You were meant to come to this castle, just as you were meant to be an assassin.”

When magic has gone from the world, and a vicious king rules from his throne of glass, an assassin comes to the castle. She does not come to kill, but to win her freedom. If she can defeat twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition to find the greatest assassin in the land, she will become the King’s Champion and be released from prison.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her.

And a princess from a foreign land will become the one thing Celaena never thought she’d have again: a friend.

But something evil dwells in the castle—and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying, horribly, one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival—and a desperate quest to root out the source of the evil before it destroys her world.

What took me so long to even read this book? I have been hearing great reviews about this; watched countless of raving fans and book analysts hail this series but I was SMH for literally deciding to put this book off for so long. THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE BEST READS I have ever had by far! I never thought that a girl heroin would be this juicy to read! She’s the greatest badass assassin ever!!!! Oh this magical world, intrigued me to DEATH! This King’s Champion cup also gave me chills!! The betrayal, the magic, the deception, secrets, the dead, and riddles! All in one package.

There is a bit of romance here and there but it is a back burner you would hardly even feel it. But I’m still strangely getting the vibes of a love triangle, but somehow Dorian, the prince, got in to it first. However, the ending for that little romance didn’t end well at the end of this book though for Dorian and Celaena… Can’t wait for book 2!!

I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
